2016 quickly ramped up to be an exciting ride of cultural activities and business opportunities, bringing many new things. Spaceworks had a landmark year! We doubled the capacity of our Creative Enterprise program, invited the public to ‘Fish Tank’ where entrepreneurs made business pitches to a panel of experts, launched the Spaceworks Gallery on the corner of 11th & Commerce, hosted our 1st inaugural auction/fundraiser NEON, and added 3 new staff members!  This look back at the many events in which Spaceworks took part shows a very active year. Tacoma is what we make it, let’s keep making it vibrant.

Buzz has steadily grown about the recent creative activity in the 1120 Pacific Avenue building. Artists, designers, and entrepreneurs have filled up 12 studios (listed below), activating the entire second floor. The open architecture of this 1970’s-modernist office space provides an unusually complimentary setting for the arts in downtown Tacoma. This grand opening is the first opportunity for the public to explore phase one of Spaceworks’ largest project to date.

Spaceworks was featured on King 5 yesterday!

“While Spaceworks Tacoma normally works to fill vacant storefronts, for the first time it’s taking on a 3-story, 20,000 square feet of space. The emphasis is on luring businesses working in creative fields.”

New tenants breathe life into vacant Tacoma building

1120 Spaceworks is a new co-working space for artists and creatives in the former MBA Building in the heart of downtown Tacoma.  Spaces range from 150-250 sq ft, and also includes a shared gallery and gathering space.  1120 Pacific Ave.
